Celebrating Cultures at the Hunterdon County World Fair

6/8/2026

The 2nd Annual Hunterdon County World Fair, presented by Descendants Brewing Company, brought together food, music, traditions, and performances from cultures around the world in the riverside town of Milford, New Jersey.
One of the things I enjoyed most was seeing people not only sharing their own traditions, but also learning from one another. Throughout the day, there were opportunities to experience different foods, listen to music, watch demonstrations, and even join in a few dances.
From colorful performances and musicians to inflatable bulls running through the streets and strawberry shortcake from a local vendor, the day felt joyful, welcoming, and full of curiosity.
Milford provided the perfect setting, and I already find myself looking forward to next year.

Wedding Photography at The Farm Bakery & Events | Quakertown, PA

Some wedding days are remembered for a single moment.
Others are remembered for all the little things happening around it.
Even with rain in the forecast, this day never seemed to slow down. There was laughter, plenty of color, and a lot of people who were genuinely happy to be there.
The flowers by Thistle Bee the Florist brought so much personality to the celebration, and from the ceremony to the sparkler exit, the whole day felt joyful from beginning to end.
Thank you for allowing me to document it.

Lake Hopatcong Block Party Returns to the State Park

5/21/2026

The Lake Hopatcong Block Party returned to the State Park this weekend, bringing together community organizations, local businesses, vendors, demonstrations, activities, food, and visitors from across the region.
Throughout the day there were opportunities to explore the lake by boat, meet first responders and conservation groups, learn about local organizations, enjoy live demonstrations, and spend time with neighbors and friends along the shoreline.
Children explored hands-on exhibits, met mascots, enjoyed face painting and activities, while visitors moved between vendor tents, community booths, food stands, and the waterfront.
Events like this are a reminder that the lake is more than a destination. It is a community built through people, organizations, volunteers, and shared experiences.
Thank you to everyone who helped organize, support, participate in, and enjoy another year of the Lake Hopatcong Block Party.

ICFF 2026 | Observations from the Show Floor

5/18/2026

ICFF and NYCxDesign Week are events I always look forward to each year.
They’re a reminder that design is as much about people as it is about objects.
Every year the design community comes together in New York to share ideas, see new work, listen, learn, ask questions, and reconnect.
There were conversations happening everywhere yesterday. On the show floor, around materials and prototypes, in the speaker spaces, over lunch tables, and in the moments between destinations.
It was a good reminder that design is a global community, but once you’re in the room it often feels surprisingly small, connected, and welcoming.
Grateful for a day spent observing, listening, photographing, and being part of it.

Aqualumina | Frenchtown, NJ

Some events just pull me in.
Aqualumina was one of those nights where people came together to make something joyful. Handmade lanterns, music in the trees, glowing costumes, kids blowing bubbles, strangers stopping to watch together for a while.
Frenchtown always seems to make space for events like this. Creative people showing up, participating, sharing ideas, making things by hand.

Aqualumina felt immersive in the best sense of the word. Light, sound, movement, and community all woven together for an evening.
These are the kinds of events I’m always drawn to photographing because there’s so much humanity in them.

Training the Next Generation | Hopatcong Fire Department Cadets

Drill nights are about more than learning equipment and procedures.
They’re about teamwork, trust, and learning how to rely on the people around you.
At Hopatcong Fire Department, cadets train alongside senior firefighters to learn everything from drafting and pumping operations to setup, breakdown, and working together under pressure.
Many of these cadets are high school friends, but they’re also becoming part of the larger firehouse family and learning what it means to serve their community together.
The fire service is built one generation at a time.

New York City Easter Parade 2026

4/5/2026

Every year, the New York City Easter Parade transforms Fifth Avenue into a moving celebration of creativity, fashion, humor, and self-expression.
What makes the event special is not just the hats or elaborate outfits, but the willingness of people to participate fully. For a few hours, strangers become part of the same shared experience, stopping to admire, photograph, and celebrate one another.
This year, I approached the day differently.
Instead of treating it like an assignment, I gave myself permission to simply walk, observe, and photograph whatever caught my attention. The result was a collection of moments that felt spontaneous, colorful, and honest.
From carefully constructed floral headpieces to playful handmade details, the parade reflected the individuality and joy that make New York unlike anywhere else.
Even the rain that arrived later in the day became part of the story, changing the mood of the streets and adding another layer of atmosphere to the experience.
These photographs are a small collection of moments from this year’s celebration along Fifth Avenue.

Hopatcong Pond Hockey Club | New Jersey

Some traditions grow older with the people who built them.
The Hopatcong Pond Hockey Club reunion brought together players who have shared the ice since the 1980s, alongside a new generation now finding their own place in the game.
Old teammates.
New stories.
Kids skating beside the people who once skated together as kids themselves.
More than a game, it felt like a community returning to itself for a night.
Exactly the kind of story worth documenting.

Theatre of Light: Celestial Winter | Morristown, New Jersey

11/30/2025

For one night, downtown Morristown transformed into a winter scene built from light, movement, music, and community participation.
MPAC’s Theatre of Light: Celestial Winter brought together performers, dancers, musicians, puppets, illuminated sculptures, and interactive installations that invited the public to become part of the experience itself.
Throughout the evening, glowing crowns, fire performances, music, and public art turned familiar streets into a shared celebration of creativity and connection.
Events like this are especially meaningful to document because they exist at the intersection of performance, public space, and community experience. The atmosphere changes constantly, and the strongest moments often happen between the larger performances:
a reaction from the crowd, a child watching in amazement, performers preparing in the cold, or the way light transforms ordinary spaces into something temporary and unforgettable.
These are the kinds of moments that make cultural events feel alive long after the night itself is over.

Community events are about more than performances.
They are about tradition, identity, and the moments that bring people together.
Day of the Dead at the Hunterdon Art Museum in Clinton, New Jersey transformed the museum grounds into a vibrant shared experience filled with music, dance, art, and reflection.
From performers preparing behind the scenes to families gathering to watch and participate, the evening was filled with the kinds of interactions that give community events lasting meaning.
These are the moments documentary photography is meant to preserve:
the atmosphere, the emotion, and the connections formed between people.
Events like this do more than entertain. They create cultural memory and strengthen community through shared experience.

Tradition in Motion | Estonia’s Dance Celebration 2025

Thousands of dancers moved together across the field in a performance built on rhythm, tradition, and collective memory. The Estonian Dance Celebration is not only about choreography. It is about continuity. Generations gathering through movement, music, national dress, and shared cultural identity.

What stood out most were the moments between performances too. The walk to the stadium. Families in traditional clothing moving through modern streets. Young dancers checking phones while wearing garments connected to centuries of history.
Culture staying alive by continuing to evolve.

The XXIX General Song Celebration and XIV Youth Song and Dance Celebration will return in July 2028.
These photographs document a small part of this extraordinary gathering.

Bastille Day | Frenchtown, New Jersey

7/15/2017

Some community events feel more like a shared performance than a festival.
Music drifting through the streets.
Artists working in public view.
Kids becoming part of the scene without hesitation.
Neighbors laughing with people they may have just met an hour earlier.
Frenchtown’s Bastille Day celebration always carried that kind of energy, where the line between audience and participant quietly disappeared.
These photographs were made nearly a decade ago, but the feeling still holds up.
Good community events do that.
They stay alive long after the day itself is over.
